Initiations

Prabhupāda: What is your name? Eh?

Susie: Susie.

Aravinda: Kaṅkā dāsī.

Prabhupāda: Kaṅkā. Your name is Kaṅkā dāsī, the daughter of a great king. All our, I mean, girl disciples are named great devotees' daughter or wife, like that. So you know what is the rules and regulation?

Kaṅkā: Yes.

Prabhupāda: Tell me.

Kaṅkā: No meat-eating, no illicit sex, no gambling, no intoxication.

Prabhupāda: And what is your name, spiritual?

Kaṅkā: [prompted by Aravinda] Kaṅkā?

Prabhupāda: You forget immediately? [laughter] Hare Kṛṣṅa. All right. How many rounds you will chant?

Kaṅkā: Sixteen rounds a day.

Prabhupāda: Only?

Kaṅkā: More if I can.

Prabhupāda: Thank you. [Kaṅkā offers obeisances] Come on. Next. [japa]

Aravinda: Rāṣṭrapālikā.

Prabhupāda: Rāṣṭrapālikā: governess, governeress. Is that?

Aravinda: Governess.

Prabhupāda: Governess? Governess. You have to govern. So what are the rules and regulations?

Rāṣṭrapālikā: No meat-eating, no intoxication, no illicit sex, no gambling.

Prabhupāda: Who is your husband? Who is your husband?

Rāṣṭrapālikā: Nitāi dāsa.

Prabhupāda: Nitāi dāsa. That's all right. Hare Kṛṣṅa.

Aravinda: Vidarbha-sūtā.

Prabhupāda: Garbha-sūtā.

Aravinda: Vidarbha-sūtā.

Prabhupāda: Eh? Vidarbha-sūtā. Vidarbha-sūtā means the wife of Lord Rāmacandra. Come on. You are married? No, not yet. All right. Come on, next.

Aravinda: Vilāsinī.

Prabhupāda: Vilāsinī. Vilāsinī means who enjoys with Kṛṣṅa. Come on. [japa]

Aravinda: Uṣika.

Prabhupāda: Uṣika.

Aravinda: Uṣika.

Prabhupāda: Uṣika is Brahmā's another name, Uśik-kṣayā. So you know the rules and regulations? What are they?

Uṣika: No illicit sex, no meat-eating, no gambling, no intoxication.

Prabhupāda: Thank you. [japa] Ceto-darpaṅa-marjanaṁ bhava-mahā-dāvāgni-nirvāpaṅam [Cc Antya 20.12].

[Let there be all victory for the chanting of the holy name of Lord Kṛṣṅa, which can cleanse the mirror of the heart and stop the miseries of the blazing fire of material existence. That chanting is the waxing moon that spreads the white lotus of good fortune for all living entities. It is the life and soul of all education. The chanting of the holy name of Kṛṣṅa expands the blissful ocean of transcendental life. It gives a cooling effect to everyone and enables one to taste full nectar at every step.]

Aravinda: Romapāda.

Prabhupāda: Brahmapāda?

Aravinda: Romapāda.

Prabhupāda: Roma?

Aravinda: R-o-m-a-p-a-d-a.

Prabhupāda: Rāmapāda? R-o?

Aravinda: R-o.

Prabhupāda: All right. So there was a great ṛṣi, Romaharṣaṅa, Romaharṣaṅa. So his disciple or servant. Yes. Hare Kṛṣṅa. No, that's all right. Come on.

Aravinda: Cedirāja.

Prabhupāda: Cedirāja. Cedirāja was Kṛṣṅa's aunt's husband. In connection with Kṛṣṅa. He was a great king. His son, Cedirāja's son, was Kṛṣṅa's cousin-brother but greatest enemy. Yes. Kṛṣṅa killed him. Yes. [laughter] Come on. [japa]

Aravinda: Kuśakratha dāsa.

Prabhupāda: Kuśakratha. Kuśakratha. You know the rules and regulation? Yes. What are they?

Kuśakratha: No meat-eating, no gambling, no illicit sex, uh, no intoxication.

Prabhupāda: Which you like best? [laughter] Which of them? [laughs]

Kuśakratha: You are reading my mind, Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Prabhupāda: [laughs] All right. Don't do that again. [laughter]

Aravinda: Kirtīrāja.

Prabhupāda: Thank you.

Aravinda: Kaṁsā. Kaṁsā devi.

Prabhupāda: Kaṁsā was the sister of King Kaṁsa. Kaṁsā was not bad, but Kaṁsa was bad. Yes. Come on.

[aside:] So is there any thread?

Aravinda: Yes. There's seven gāyatrīs, four threads.

Prabhupāda: Hmm?

Aravinda: Four threads, seven gāyatrīs in all.

Prabhupāda: So they may come after. Hare Kṛṣṅa.

Devotees: All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda. All glories to the pure devotee.

[devotees offer obeisances] [end]
